“Let’s go out.” I whispered to Robin who frowned back at me over his book,
“What?” he replied amused,
“Lets. Go. Out.” I said nodding, he nodded back to me almost frowning. “I’m climbing the walls and you’re horny as fuck.” I said, he laughed.
“Excuse me.” He said, I tapped my head, he sighed.
“Stop reading my horny mind. It’s unsanitary.” He said, I laughed. “Where are we going?”
“I heard about this bar. It’s like a speakeasy, but only those of us with magic are allowed in.”
“That sounds cool.” He said nodding as he put his book on his bed and moved forward so he was sat closer to me, “but how does that get me laid?” He asked, I shrugged.
“If you want it. It’ll come.” I said, he hit my arm.
“That was a disgusting joke.” He said, I laughed. “What about Evan?” he said, I frowned at him as our bedroom door opened. Evan came into the room, barely even looking at us before turning towards the bathroom.
“Ev?” I said, he spun in the bathroom doorway to look at me, “do you want to come to a bar with us tonight?” I said, he laughed.
“No.” he said, I looked at Robin raising my eyebrow at him as he laughed. “Can I pee now?” he asked, I nodded, he went into the bathroom,
“Good enough for you?” I asked, he nodded.
“One more problem.”
“You’re full of problems today.” I said, Robin laughed as he stood from his bed, pulling out his trunk of clothes.
“We’re not eighteen yet.” He said, I nodded.
“Who said we’re going to drink?” I said, he turned to look at me properly.
“Sander.”
“I look about thirty. Whatever.” I said, he nodded so I kicked him.
“Have fun.” Evan teased from his bed, I smiled at him as he sat his laptop in front of him, already in his pyjamas with an unopened packet of crisp next to him.
“You too.”
“I intend to.” He said, I smiled at him as he opened his crisp, offering me one as Robin came out of the bathroom. I winked at him as we left the room. Running down the stairs and out into the night.
“So, how do you know about this place?” Robin asked as we walked across the road to the bus stop.
“Just a friend.” I said, Robin eyed me so I sighed, “a hook-up, he brought me here.”
“Eighteen?” he asked, I nodded slowly, he also did.
“Apparently he goes when he doesn’t feel like being around humans.” I said, he laughed.
“Does he often not feel like being around humans?” he said, I shrugged as I stood for the bus.
“I guess so.” I replied, holding my arm out to stop the bus. The bar, was near gay street which, Robin and I both decided was very apt for a supernatural speakeasy. We walked down the staircase towards what looked like a red telephone box. I swung the door open, turning to look at Robin as we stepped into it.
“So, what do we do?” he asked, I laughed as I picked the phone off the holder,
“Hello?” I asked into it,
“Good Evening.” The voice on the other end of the phone said, I covered my mouth so I wouldn’t laugh. Robin smirked at me. “State your intent.”
“To drink?” I asked, Robin laughed out loud.
“Species?” the voice asked, I smirked.
“Wizard.” I whispered,
“How can you prove that?”
“I can show you my wand if you want.” I replied, Robin hit me again, as something clicked.
“Put the phone down.” the voice said, so I did, putting it back on its holster, and taking a step back as the wall with the phone on swung open.
“Cool.” Robin and I said at the same time as we walked down the dimly light corridor to a curtain. Robin pushed it open, a bar appeared in front of us. It was almost full to bursting with people around every table, and more people lining the bar. I found a table, taking Robin’s hand and leading him to it. I picked up the menu when we got to it, reading the rules on the back;
· No Black Magic. Under any circumstances.
· No live animals.
· Vampires must carry ID if consuming alcohol.
· Order at the bar.
· Remember your table number.
“I’ll just have a beer.” Robin said shaking his head as he looked around,
“You bore.” I said, his head whipped around to look at me, “I take you out to a nice place and you get a beer.” I said, he laughed.
“Well, what do you suggest?” he asked,
“How about I order for you?” I said, he narrowed his eyes at me, “I know your poison is wine, so I’ll avoid it.”
“Fine. I’ll trust you.” He said, although it sounded amazingly wary.
“Trust me.” I said amused as I searched the table for the number.
“Three.” He said, I looked at him then nodded and went to the bar. The bartender had bright yellow hair and what looked like glitter sprinkled over his cheeks. He glanced up at me as my eyes roamed over him.
“What do you want mate?” he asked, I laughed.
“What would you recommend?”
“That depends what you’re drinking.” He replied, I grinned as I leant on the bar.
“I’m thinking cocktails.” He said,
“For you and your…” he nodded towards Robin,
“Brother.” I replied,
“Oh.” He said, he sounded mildly relieved. “I’d recommend the Mermaid Magic Julep for your brother. For yourself, I’ve got something really special.” He said, I nodded to him as he pulled two glasses from underneath the bar.
“You’re a fairy?” I asked, he nodded as he poured vodka and mint liqueur into a cocktail shaker, he let go of it smiling as it began to shake behind him.
“Of the Flaxen colony.” He said nodding, “you are?”
“Wizard.” I said, he seemed impressed. “How did you end up a bartender, here?” I asked, he smirked with me.
“Didn’t want to collect teeth, or grant kids wishes.” He said shrugging as he put rum and coffee into the second cocktail shaker that began to shake over his left shoulder.
Ice raised from the bucket underneath the bar, it crushed itself falling into the long glass, followed by some kiwi. The shaker poured itself into the glass, as he opened a can of club soda, pouring it on top, whilst the second shaker poured into the bell-shaped glass.
Cloves danced over the bar top, followed by pieces of toffee, and a brandy snifter once the snifter touched the liquid, it began to smoke.
“Cool.” I said, the man smiled as he placed the bell glass in front of me, then the second one. He waved his hand over the top of the glass turning the liquid purple. We both stood looking at it once he did, until the liquid turned pink.
“Fifteen.” He said, I nodded as I reached for my wallet.
“That it actually far less than I was expecting.” I said passing him the notes over, he winked at me as he put it into the till.
“Have fun… with your brother.” He said, I laughed taking the two drinks. “If you’re still here at last orders. Come find me.” He added, I nodded to him taking the drinks back to the table, slipping the drink onto the table, Robin’s eyes widened almost instantly.
“Mermaid, something.” I said, Robin laughed as he picked it up drinking from the straw.
“Wow that’s a lot of vodka.” He said holding the drink to me, so I took a sip, almost coughing when the vodka hit.
“That is.” I said, as the drink turned blue. “Cool though.” I said, he hummed ageing whilst straightening his napkin before putting the drink back on it.
“And what is yours?” he asked, I shook my head as my drink continued to smoke, big clouds coming out of it.
“I’m almost afraid of it.” I said, as I lifted it taking a drink out of it. “It tastes like how you’d imagine Old Spice would.” I said, he laughed holding his hand out to me, so I passed him the drink.
“Wow.” He said, “that’s not my drink.” He added then looked around the bar, as I continued to drink, so I tuned in.
Fairy, must be purple hair.
Wow. He’s cute.
Her.
He thought so I looked up and towards the girl he was looking at.
“Cute.”
“Stop reading my mind.” Robin said without looking at me, I almost laughed. “I can feel you crawling around in there.”
“What do you think she is?” I asked, he turned to look at me, his eyes briefly swum.
“Sprite.” He said, his eyes sparkling.
“Go for it.” I said, he shook his head.
“I can’t.” he said shaking his head over and over,
“How could I possibly just…”
“Walk up to her, talk to her. Woo her.” I said, he scoffed. “Are you telling me you haven’t ever picked someone up just in passing?”
“Of course I haven’t.” he said shaking his head,
“You’ve had sex before…”
“Yeah, but the guy I slept with approached me.” He said shaking his head, “the girl…” he looked away from me, I smirked.
“Only twice.” I said, he nodded. “Okay.” I said, then moved the seat around the table so I could sit next to him, “go up to her, and say…” I said, then whispered in his ear. He laughed about halfway through then looked at me, almost headbutting me. “I guarantee you a fuck.” I said, “and if you don’t get one. I’ll buy you a drink.” I said, he put his hand out to me.
"Deal.” He said, I shook his hand, then he turned my arm so he could read my watch. “Midnight?” he said, I nodded to him. “Then we go home? The curfew doesn’t come to play until one am.”
“Deal.” I replied, as he took a deep breath then stood from our table taking his drink with him, so I turned on the chair, winking at the barman who grinned back at me as he cleaned a glass.
“I only get ten minutes for my break.” He said, I laughed as he hit the wall.
“Ten minutes is more than enough.” I replied, he smirked shaking his head at me as if he didn’t believe me, so I kissed him until he groaned. Then travelled down his body until I was on my knees. I pulled on his fly, tugging his pants open, then tugged on his boxers, glancing up at him and winking before I took him into my mouth.
He held onto the back of my head as he came groaning and headbutting the wall behind him, then he sighed, dropping to a crouch and smiling at me, as I smiled back then turned my head spitting his cum out. He laughed, turning my chin back to him and kissing me again, so I kissed him back then lifted my wrist,
“And you’ve still got two minutes.” I said then gasped at him, he gasped back amused as we both stood together. He passed me his number as he went back into the bar, so I pocketed it laughing to myself as I walked down the rest of the alley, pissing up against the big industrial bins. Jumping out of my skin when I heard someone clear their throat. I turned my head to look at them.
“Shit, Robin.” I said, he laughed.
“Classy choice.” He said, as I turned fully to him fastening the last button of my jeans. “Well you shouldn’t pee where you blow. That’s just wrong.” I said, he laughed more then picked up my wrist.
“It’s midnight.”
“So it is.” I replied as we began to walk down the alley. “Did you get fucked?” I asked, he nodded slowly, so I began to shake his arm. “Hm. Tell me more.”
“She fell for that bullshit you said.”
“That is not bullshit thank you very much. That is pure gold.” I said, he laughed.
“It’s bullshit, but it’s good bullshit. We were kissing in a matter of minutes. Then her hand was in my pants and well…” he wobbled his head as he blushed.
“Where?” I asked, he bit his lip.
“Bathroom.” He muttered, I laughed.
“Oh Robin.”
“Better than an alleyway.”
“I’d argue the alley was cleaner.” I said, he laughed.
“Yeah, you’re probably right.” He said then knocked his head against mine as he laughed.
“Brought you something.” I said to Evan as I walked into our bedroom, Robin followed not long after as Evan frowned at me from his bed. “We got a kebab.”
“You didn’t get me a kebab, did you?” he asked, the disgust clear so I laughed.
“No.” I said as I went into the little bag, I passed him the polystyrene box. He frowned at me as I sat on my bed and began to untie my doc martens, then he opened the box and began to laugh.
“You got me cake.” He said happily, I nodded to him as Robin came out the bathroom and I went in.
